Abraham – TX

Meet adoptable deaf (and partially blind), 6 year old terrier mix Abraham aka Abbey who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him and always keep  him safe.

From  his caregiver: Abbey is short for Abraham but he can’t hear you so it doesn’t really matter what you call him! He was born July 25th, 2013 and he is a wire haired terrier and winnie dog mix. He is fully deaf and partially blind. He know sign commands such as sit, lay down, give me paw, and stay. He is also trained on a remote vibrating collar since you can’t call him because he can’t hear you.

Abraham is neutered, house broken, and crate trained. He is good with animals as long as they don’t get in his face. He’s been around chickens, goats, dogs, and cats. He loves kids however his ears are sensitive so you have to be careful around them. He doesn’t really like to go out often and hates traveling he would much rather sit on your lap on the sofa than anything else. He a very sweet and full of life but he does need a watchful eye, he is know to eat a lot of things that have a smell to them. He has even once got a fishing lure stuck in his lip. He also has a tendency to over eat or drink and he will throw up but as long as you control his portions he is fine.
