Ringo is a 4 month old male English Setter Cross. Ringo is the last of Sussie’s puppies looking for a home. Sussie is a small Setter and we strongly suspect the pup’s dad must be a pointer! Sussie and the rest of her litter traveled to their new homes at the weekend. Unfortunately for Ringo, his adoption fell through but Pipo’s (now Bodie) lovely adopters came to the rescue and he’s being fostered in Kent with his brother until he finds his own family!
His foster family say he’s settling in really well. He’s more bold than his brother and really confident so we suspect he would cope as an only dog with lots of human company, or equally do well with other dogs in the home since he has also enjoyed meeting other dogs.
He’s very affectionate and cuddly. He loves toys, particularly anything that squeaks! So far he is behaving really well in the house although it is early days yet! He’s not chewed anything he shouldn’t (apart from sticks and stones…) and he’s barely had any accidents in the house. In fact, he is learning really quickly and runs outside to do his business and back in to collect his treat!
In true puppy fashion, he gives enthusiastic welcomes and can be a bit jumpy but he’s learning fast. He loves food and likes to scrounge at dinner time, but again, he’s already learning manners in that departments. He’s a very clever boy! He’s been for his first couple of short walks. He was confused by his lead at first but it only took him 5 minutes or so to work it out and then he loved his walk!
He was very interested in smells and everything going on around him as expected for his breeds. He met lots of dogs and greeted them happily and with confidence. His foster family said it was lovely to watch him interacting with his new found friends.
As always, we are looking for somebody with the time and patience to invest in training and preferably with experience of gun dogs.
