Dog Handling Tips: Stumpy – 2 year old male Labrador Cross

Stumpy is a 2 year old male Labrador Cross. Stumpy is a rescue from Cyprus, currently living with his foster mum in Stockport, whilst he waits for his forever family to find him. Here is a little about him: Whilst we do not know exactly what breeds may be in Stumpy’s mix, from his appearance he looks like a Labrador with short legs.

Stumpy is a very loving boy He can be a little nervous when meeting new people but is quickly won over by food or a fuss! He walks well on his lead. Stumpy loves his food but doesn’t eat it fast or snatch it. He takes treats gently and is easy to train, and his recall is good if you have treats.

Stumpy currently lives with two other dogs that he gets on well with. He loves people and cuddling up next you, he just adores your attention. Stumpy met a cat in Cyprus and was fine. He has seen one since being in the UK and has ignored it. Stumpy is house trained. He has access to a crate when left alone and is happy to sleep in it but he’s never shut in it. He likes to sleep in the crate at night. He won’t go upstairs and is quite happy sleeping in his bed/crate by choice.

Stumpy creates a strong bond with his human, however he is fine when left alone in the house and happily sleeps. He is an amazing, friendly, loving dog who just loves life. He loves being outside. Stumpy is a ready trained dog. He doesn’t really need any training but if he was to get some it would be good bonding for him and his owner. He is a happy, loving dog who is really enjoying the comforts of home and attention of his foster parents.
