Milo – 12 year old male Shih Tzu

Milo is a 12 year old male Shih Tzu. Milo is looking for a new home as he is not comfortable around the young grandchild who regularly visits. Recently Milo was in his bed when the grandchild crawled over to him resulting in Milo biting him. This was not a serious bite but following this Milo is now having to be locked away a lot of the time which his family feels is unfair on him. Milo is a fantastic boy who is friendly with adults, however he is a typical Shih Tzu and will bark when someone knocks at the door. He can also become anxious when people stand up and go to leave the room and will bark and chase their feet. His current owners manage this problem by picking him up when people go to leave.

Milo is also not very fond of the postman but we can’t blame him for this as a postman kicked him in the past! Milo is sociable with other dogs on walks but can be grumpy towards puppies as he prefers his own space. He has never lived with other dogs, however his current owner feels he could potentially live with a calm, older female. He does not like cats. Despite his age Milo is very healthy and active dog who thoroughly enjoys his walks. He has no known illnesses and has recently had his teeth cleaned and some extracted. It is hard to believe that he is 12 years old!

We are looking for an adult only, quiet home for Milo without visiting children and with no children planned for the future. In the home Milo is clean and non-destructive and could be left alone for a few hours, being a senior boy he does love to snooze!

Overall Milo is an affectionate boy, who loves to play with toys and is happy to be groomed. He would make a wonderful companion in a home free from young children.
