Dog Handling Tips: Hipo – 2 year old male Cross-Breed

Hipo is a wonderful young boy, about 2 years old, who sadly lost one of his legs in a traffic accident in his native Romania. He is however not hindered whatsoever by the fact that he only has 3 legs. He can play and run the same as any other dog. In fact he absolutely loves going off lead with all his canine friends at the kennels, he is a very sociable dog and loves nothing more than a good run around in the company of other dogs.

Hipo has spent time in foster during his recovery time following his amputation so he has learnt the basics and is house trained. He is an incredibly clever dog, inquisitive and into everything. He would enjoy being in a family keen to do activities with him and keep his brain engaged. A home very much focussed on the life of their dogs is what Hipo needs. We feel that he would do well with other dogs in a home as he may feel less pressured to take the lead, enabling him to take more of a back seat. He is a sensitive little guy too, and will need a family able to read him well.

Hipo is looking for a confident, experienced, adult only home who have balanced dogs already. He does need to be given boundaries but at the same time his family will need to be in tune with his sensitive side. He is looking for an active family who can provide him with the level of exercise he needs. He is a fun and affectionate dog who will enjoy being in a home tremendously.
