Ashley – 6-8 year old male Yorkshire Terrier cross Maltese

Ashley is a 6-8 year old male Yorkshire Terrier cross Maltese who was rescued from a shelter in Portugal after enduring an extended period of neglect. He came to Wolfie’s with a range of health issues which we have successfully treated. He contracted distemper at the beginning of the year and has a wobbly walk. He had a double enucliation as a result of repeated eye infections; which have left him with two burned tunnels throughout the layers of the eye. He arrived a bag of bones, because he has been expected to eat food not suitable for an older dog with a lack of teeth and his coat is full of flea dirt.

However this little boy is angelic. He wags his tail the second you walk in the room. Eats his soft food with gusto but will try to tackle a bone and although he is totally blind uses puppy pads when in the house. He walks about the room until he feels the puppy pad and then tidily has a wee.

His spirit is a beacon of light and he is a joy to be around. He loves people and gets ridiculously excited at the sound of a human voice. It’s clear that this little boy has been loved and cared for at some time and has been abandoned.

We have pulled him back from the brink and he is ready to move on to be the constant living companion of someone who is home for most of the day and can cope with and return the love this little angel has to offer.

Ashley is vaccinated, wormed and comes with a European Passport.
