Tom is a 5 year old male Pointer Cross. Tom is a super handsome and happy Pointer boy with a short soft tan dappled coat and he stands at 63 cm high (withers) and 92 cm long. Tom is a very noble, loving and sociable dog, a really good dog whose luck has been bad until now. He walks very well on a lead, he doesn’t pull. He’s extremely affectionate, he loves cuddles and head rubs, he loves people and is not shy or wary at all. He doesn’t seem to be fearful or have traumas, he really seems to be a happy boy. He loves going out for walks but his level of energy is medium. He is very sociable with other dogs, playful and calm. He hasn’t been tested with cats.

He hasn’t had the chance to exercise daily in a long, long time, so for the moment he enjoys short walks. He’s been for the last 3 years of his life locked up in a pound in Cáceres, Spain, where dogs are not allowed to go outside. He was abandoned there by his hunter ex owner, who thought Tom wasn’t good enough for hunting. He only gets a chance to go for a walk when a volunteer goes to walk him out.

This volunteer reached out to my rescue asking for help to find him a home, because it truly is a pity that this boy can’t have a family of his own. He is healthy, neutered and ready to travel abroad. Current location is in Spain can travel to the UK once he has a home to go to. Vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, Neutered, Microchipped, Pet Passport, FREE 4 weeks Pet Insurance to be activated from the link on our website. Any known health issues NONE KNOWN.

For Dogs coming from Spain: This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK. We can not home dogs from Spain to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.

Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
Adoption Fee : £ 275 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
