Dog Handling Tips: Harry – 2 year old male Lurcher

Harry is a 2 year old male Lurcher and came into care after being found abandoned with his siblings. Harry is and will always be a nervous dog and for this reason he is looking for an adult only calm home, he could live with another calm but playful dog but no cats or rabbits because he has that Lurcher instinct to chase. He will play with other dogs and really enjoys their company, he enjoys soft toys and ropes to throw around, he is still learning what play is, but every day he becomes more confident.

Harry walks well on the lead but he will need a confident handler who can reassure him, he is not currently going off lead but is good on a long line and stays close by. Harry needs a family willing to work with him over a long period of time, this will include a number of meet and greets at the centre so that he can get to know and trust you.
