Cooper – FL

Meet adoptable deaf Lab mix Cooper who is looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish him and always keep him safe.

Cooper is an amazing dog I am fostering through Clay County Animal Care and Control in Green Cove Springs, Florida. We did not know he was deaf until a couple days after we brought him home. We noticed he wasn’t responding to certain calls. We took him to the vet and they confirmed our suspicion. He is deaf and we believe it is from some sort of head trauma.

Cooper has a dip on top of his head and there is a scar under his fur in the dip. He has been in two different possible new homes and both could not commit due to his anxiety. He doesn’t bark, but he will scratch at the door you leave from because we think he thinks he’s being left. He needs a home with other dogs and someone who will give him time to adjust to his new surroundings.

Cooper is a lab/ shepherd mix about 8 years old. He does great with kids of all ages, he’s great with other dogs, cats unknown as we don’t have any. He’s potty trained and he will sit. He is a lover boy and just wants to be near you at all times. He can not be kenneled because of his kennel anxiety. He will do everything in his power to get out even if that means hurting himself. He deserves a great home.
