Lucy is a 12 month old Yorkshire Terrier who is an absolutely tiny little dot. You’ll have to forgive how utterly ridiculous she looks in these photos. The hair on her body was very matted but we wanted to keep the hair on her face so she didn’t have to be completely scalped. Lucy is the smallest Yorkie I’ve ever seen and has come to us after being kept in a garden by her last home. As a result she is incredibly frightened of new people.
She may growl and bark at first but she’s so small and fragile with such limited exposure to people previously that it’s hardly a surprise. She is absolutely fine when she knows you and actually comes round very fast. She did allow me to handle her when I first met her and even pick her up but she got worried about it. Now she’s totally fine and I can do anything with her. She’s also very sweet and playful too. Lucy currently shares her suite with other small dogs. She doesn’t overly interact with them and we feel she may do better in a dog free home. She isn’t aggressive but doesn’t show any form of dependency on other dogs but does enjoy human interaction.
We feel to truly bring Lucy out of her shell a dog free home with plenty of one on one interaction would be the best option. Because of how tiny and fearful she is won’t be accepting applications from homes with resident children. Lucy is not housetrained and this will require work in her new home, she is however quiet and nondestructive and happy to be left for reasonable durations of time. Lucy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and will be subject to a homecheck and adoption donation. He will also come with 4 weeks free insurance and a voucher for a box of free food.
