Dog Handling Tips: Lucy – 11 month old female Cross-Breed

Introducing Lucy the pocket rocket, is an 11 month old female Cross-Breed. We have the privilege of fostering this wonderful little lady who arrived recently from Romania. Although small in stature she has bags of character a huge heart and an enormous spirit. Lucy weighs in at a mighty six Kilograms and stands 10 inches tall, we would now consider her just about about fully grown.

To the best of our knowledge we would say that she is a Chihuahua terrier mix although as you can see from her photograph facially she looks like a miniature Labrador. She has impeccable manners around our other dogs and currently is about 90% house trained. Lucy is inquisitive, full of fun and a little daredevil and has been the source of hours of entertainment although in the evening she does like her cuddles and will settle down for a full nights sleep.

Initially she can be a little reticent when meeting new people as would be expected from her breed but this reticence is only short lived and she soon relaxes. Ideally her new family would be experienced with smaller breed dogs, although Lucy herself is quite comfortable around much larger doggie company and would be happy in most households providing she was not left on her own for long periods or homes with young children although teenage children would be fine.
