Linus is an 8-9 year old male Cross-Breed he is a smallish black Labrador cross who looks like a little bear. Linus is exactly the kind of dog that our rescue was set up to help. Ignored or abused for most of his life he stopped expecting anything good to happen. Once rescued he never flourished in the shelter environment and never bonded with any human because he’d simply lived without any kindness from them for so long. In a shelter that contains over two hundred dogs it is very easy for a dog like Linus to remain invisible and avoid human interaction and that’s exactly what he’s done for the past couple of years. He did however manage to eat….. a lot!

Linus is in our care in the UK now and he’s surprising us every day. He hasn’t tried to hide at all and, although far from seeking it out, he has allowed us to fuss him and show him love and affection. He’s learning a whole new way to live quite late in his life but finding that actually he quite likes it! Linus is looking for a very special home. Primarily our concern is for his weight. We want him to live a lot more years now that he’s sampling a much better life and at the moment his weight is the only thing causing a threat to our plans. Adopters will need to exercise him consistently and be careful with his food intake….. no matter how hard to resist those sorrowful little eyes are.

Linus would benefit from a home with another steady dog to learn from but it’s not essential. He is doing very well at learning to walk on a lead but is still panicked by strangers approaching him as he’s convinced they’re going to beat him. He is already improving but confidence takes time to grow after so many years of hardship. Linus is looking for a quiet and understanding environment and is happy to be left home alone for reasonable periods of time with no issues…. in fact he’s unlikely to wake up during the whole time you’re gone ?
Our adoption fee is £250, they are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered). If you are interested please message or call between 9am and 6pm.
