Dog Handling Tips: Hercule – 3-4 year old male Collie Cross

Hercule is roughly 3-4 year old male Collie Cross weighing under 10 Kg. Hercules life has been very uneventful. He was rescued as a young puppy from a high kill shelter and taken to a vet to be fostered until a German rescue could take him. Sadly he was forgotten and spent most of his life at the vet clinic.

He was very scared when he came into our care as everything was new to him but he has made considerable progress and is very relaxed with the people he knows. With strangers, he shies away to start with, but relaxes once he realises that there is no threat. He is not aggressive. Walking on a lead is still work in progress.

Hercule will require a patient family preferably with another dog, who will let him build his confidence at his own paste. He will also need a secure garden with a fence no lower than six foot.
