Dog Handling Tips: Xano – 3 year old male Spanish Mastin

Xano is a 3 year old male Spanish Mastin. Xano is a good-hearted giant with a soft, long white and tan coat. Xano is dying to get out of his kennel! He is a young dog with a lot of energy and has been living at the shelter since he was 1 year old. He can’t wait to run and play in the run with other dogs or to be taken out for a walk. Although he is very active, he also calms down after a while and loves being next to someone and getting cuddles and affection. He is very noble and good-natured, just a huge puppy who wants to play and be loved.

Actually we think he might still believe he is a puppy and not a 58 kg dog! He loves greeting people by jumping on them to lick their faces! We think a family with a large garden would be great for him ! He loves other dogs, good cats and likes children. Due to his size we think children over 8 years. Xano is a sociable dog that can live with other dogs, males or females. He’s active, playful and very very affectionate. He is friendly with people and loves asking for head rubs and belly rubs.

Xano is currently living in the shelter but he has enjoyed many weekends fostered by a family with other dogs, cats and children. They love him, but can’t adopt him. They say he’s a great dog: noble, loyal and obedient like all Spanish Mastins. He is an excellent guardian and family dog. He does pull on the lead and he’s very strong, so he needs a strong person, but he reacts very well to corrections. He is calm at home and he ignored the cats and was friendly with the dogs. He loves the extra attention from the children and he is gentle with them.
