Ike is a 7 year old male Cross-Breed, possibly Basset hound and or beagle in the mix. Ike (Issac) is fostered In Beetly, Norfolk. Ike has spent at least five of his seven years suffering a miserable existence at the notorious Botosani shelter in Romania. Being one of 700 ignored and forgotten dogs has taken its toll on Ike and he doesn’t find it easy to trust new people. Initially Ike was so terrified when a lead was put in him that he had a complete melt down but he is now walking well on a lead and even runs freely with a trailing lead and has a lovely time.
Ike is very food motivated and with more one to one attention in a less dog populated environment we are confident he will thrive and learn to trust quite quickly. Ike needs a home with another confident dog as being thrust into a house full of unknown humans and no dog to turn to for reassurance would be too much for him to cope with. I don’t think Ike would be good with cats or small animals and he cannot live with young children. He travels well in a car although can be a little nervous initially of getting in but this is improving daily and will continue to be worked on in his foster home.
We can not erase the sad past of this dear little boy but we are very hopeful that we can find him someone with the love and patience needed to mend the damage caused by it. Our adoption fee is £250, they will be vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
