Buddha is an adolescent American Bulldog pup who is about 10 months old. He is a breed dog who “belonged” until he was about 6 months old when his young owner sadly died of a heart attack. The neighbours of this guy promised his rescuer that they would care for him until we could arrange transport to the U.K. but sadly did not stick to the word and dumped him in a kill shelter.
We had him pulled as soon as we found out he was there and he went into a private pension until we could prepare him to travel. He is now in foster with me just outside Glasgow (but we can get him anywhere for the right home and the cost of fuel). He is a big boy who is currently very underweight but as his favourite thing other than cuddles is food it’s not going to be a problem getting some meat on his bones.
Despite his sad past Buddha remains just the sweetest and gentlest of dogs. He is clean in the house, knows basic commands such as sit and paw, walks on a lead (although he can pull a bit at the start of a walk) and plays beautifully with the other dogs no matter what their size.
As he arrived at the same time as a load of “smalls” he’s been hanging out in the pen with them and they all love him. He’s just a big goofball that needs someone to love him and a sofa to sleep on.
