Nandi is a medium size mix breed boy, with beautiful rusty coloured hair and a very open and honest look in his eyes. If you think of what he’s been through and still can be so graceful and loving, you will love this dog forever. Nandi did not have a good start in life, in fact, it’s the exact opposite. He spent the first 5 years of his life on a 1,5 m chain, without shelter, surrounded with his own feces, without proper food or water supply, in horrendous circumstances. He was not alone in his misery, there was a puppy on another chain, and you could clearly see slavery in their eyes… They were both seized from the owners and Nandi needed a surgery to have the chain removed from his neck it was already grown into his flesh so deep.
Despite this disgraceful start, since living in the rescue in the past 7 months, Nandi has learned to trust people and also learned how to behave with other dogs in the shelter. His social skills improved a lot and this dog became the most obedient and loving company which is nothing short of a miracle. He is very grateful for the love and care he is given every day and he wants nothing more that to please his humans!
He is very intelligent, learns quick, responds nicely to commands, loves cuddles and loves being around your and touch you whenever he can. He is quite a calm and reliable doggie. He likes playing with the ball but does not bring it back. He walks nicely on the lead and stays close to you. He is not reactive with dogs, cyclists, joggers, even ducks did not trigger too much excitement in him when walked on the lead. He travels calm in the car and likes to look out the window.
He lives in peace with his doggie mates at the shelter and he is nice and calm with most dogs. He is also one of the favourites among dog walkers on family days and is friendly with children too. He could make a wonderful family pet and a partner for life – he’s got so much love and affection to give! He would be best suited for a family without or with children over 10 who do not leave him alone for long periods and can spend precious time with him. He needs a home where he is treated as a family member and included in all sorts of activities to compensate him for all those lost years and show him that the world is full of adventures! He could live with a calm female doggie, but he would be equally happy living with his humans to care for him only.
Nandi is currently in Hungary and and can travel to the UK once a home’s been secured for him. He comes fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick treated, with an EU passport and DEFRA approved paperwork. Adoption is subject to Home Check and Adoption fee.
