Mia is a beautiful black and white Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl that we homed 7 years ago. Due to family circumstances, through no fault of her own, Mia is back with Dogwatch. For the last 7 years Mia has lived happily with a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She loved him very much, so we know that Mia is fine with other dogs. She does not react to any dog when out on her walks. She does pull on the lead. Mia is brilliant with children of all ages and has spent the last few years surrounded by Grandchildren.

Mia can be left and will curl up and go to sleep, when you are not at home. She loves to play and is happiest demolishing her stuffed toys. Mia CANNOT live with a cat and will chase them. Mia would be best homed with a laid back male dog or as an only dog. Poor Mia can’t understand why she is back in rescue and is missing George, her doggy friend. Mia deserves a loving home. She is about 8 years old now and a very calm girl who loves her fuss. She is neutered and will be vaccinated.

FOSTERERS REPORT: We only fostered Mia for 2 days, but I wish circumstances had allowed us to keep her longer! She settled in very quickly. Mia is very friendly and has that great Staffie smile. All she wants is human company and a lot of fuss. She is happy to sit on your lap or at your feet. She loves chasing a toy or ball down the garden, bringing it back, she drops it at your feet and even nudges it to say “pick it up”. When she gets tired though, she will try and chew up the toy or ball.

Perhaps a Kong would have been best. She does pull a little on the lead, but only when she sees something she wants to investigate. She responses well to commands, and I believe she is very trainable. When we took Mia to the vets for her vaccination she was as good as gold. She made friends with all the staff, customers and their dogs. The vet let her lick him and sit on his lap on the floor. At bed time we put her bed in the kitchen and we never heard a thing from her all night, although she was very pleased to see us the next morning.

Mia is fully house trained. She is lively for her age, but not boisterous. She would settle very quickly into her forever home and bring a lot of pleasure to whoever adopts her.
