Roxy – 8-9 week old female German Shepherd Cross

Roxy is an 8-9 week old German Shepherd mix – possibly Labrador puppy girly. Roxy, along with his siblings, was dumped in the Spanish countryside and they were hiding in a drainpipe- the rescue we work with were alerted to the plight of these 8 babies and although overflowing themselves when they were told they were in danger from being killed by a large fox hanging around, agreed to get them to safety.

When I met these pups it was pretty obvious that prior to coming into rescue they had been well looked after and socialised- I have seen pups terrified in the past, but these are quite confident, fat little pups- so who knows what their story is. Mother, we think, was a German Shepherd or mix, and a Labrador has been seen in the village where they were found- but we are only guessing here, and going on what we have been told. We have done individual pictures and videos of each of the babies to give people a feel for them as individuals.

These puppies, I should imagine, will be large breed and it’s pretty obvious there is Shepherd in there – they are lovely puppies and currently little blank canvases – they will not be able to travel for approx. 5 – 6 weeks as they need all their vaccinations and rabies jabs to travel – because of their size and the mix we will only home them to experienced homes- people who understand the importance of owning a large breed dog, and the work it takes to train them properly, socialise them and exercise them, especially as they get older – what we do not want is a phone call in 7 months time from someone making up some excuse why they cannot no long keep the dog, when in fact it’s due to the fact they were attracted to a lovely pretty puppy but incapable of understanding the hard work that is required to put into dogs like these so they grow up to be well rounded balanced well trained adults and not out of control teenagers.

These pups will be fully vaccinated and have their own Pet Passport, but too young to be neutered so you will be expected to do this as part of the adoption agreement.
