Apollo is a two and a half year old medium sized Cross-Breed, possibly some Husky and Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the mix. Apollo is fostered in Norfolk (FR007). Apollo has clearly had a tough life. He’s been with us for a long time now and has only recently begun to lighten up around us. He was rescued from the Radauti public shelter in Romania where life can be extremely difficult and we can only guess at what life may have been like for him prior to the dog catchers dumping him there.
It is essential that we find a home for Apollo that has at least one other dog already, in an ideal world which we hardly dare hope for he would go with another dog from his foster home that he already knows but we’re aware the chances of that are extremely remote. Despite his fears there is no nastiness in Apollo whatsoever, he will still cower when stroked at times but is also now wagging his tail when he sees us and daring to sniff at our reached out hands. In a more one to one environment I’m sure he will advance further and one day become much braver than he is now. Apollo is now loving his walks and having the time of his life off lead in the woods.
This funny little boy is beginning to display a spark of humour and the courage he holds within is beginning to shine through. Apollo does wholeheartedly sing along to ambulance, police and fire engine sirens but will stop when told to!
