Eleanor is a 4-5 year old ex-breeder Cavalier King Charles Spaniel girl who is being fostered in Rhondda, South Wales, and is learning to trust humans again. She gets very excited when her foster mum comes home her tail will wag and she cries with excitement. She likes the simple things in life will sleep on your lap for hours. She has a very loud snore so you will always know where she is.
Eleanor is fine with adults although she does take a while to get used to new people. Eleanor is ok with children but she will try to stay out of their way if possible.
Eleanor gets on well with all dogs. She will occasionally try and play with her foster sister and she will come out of her shell as she begins to feel safer. She has not been cat tested.
Eleanor is fine to be left for short periods if she has other dogs for company. Toilet training is a work in progress and Eleanor will go out garden if taken out on regular basis but still has the odd accident indoors. Eleanor has not been destructive in the home. She will dig at the furniture to get comfy spot but is a gentle girl. Eleanor has no major issues in the home but is slightly scared of the vacuum cleaner. She does suffer from dry, itchy skin and is currently using Nutramega as prescribed by vets.
Eleanor is fine with harness and lead. She will walk a small distance but does get easily spooked by cars or sudden movements. Work in progress.
We think Eleanor would benefit from living with another dog, possibly another king Charles of similar age in a quiet and relaxed home. We feel possibly older children at the home would be best who know how to be calm and gentle around dogs.
Please remember, if you have a dog and it is not neutered, it is against our policies to re-home a dog with you.
Eleanor is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and up to date with her flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in South Wales.
